Maria Morton, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Maria Morton is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with experience in helping individuals and couples to heal, grow, and achieve their personal goals. She also has years of lay experience providing peer counseling and facilitating recovery groups for women, primarily related to improved relational health. She favors using person-centered counseling, empowering each client to know themselves and find their answers within. She is trained in the top trauma treatment modality, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), which can help free people from lasting negative impacts of trauma, such as emotional triggers and negative core beliefs about oneself. She likes to use the cognitive behavioral approach to help clients explore how their habits of thinking are limiting their lives, and how to reframe thoughts into reality-based, self-enhancement lives. Maria enjoys supporting clients to explore their spirituality, so they know their purpose, live based on their true value, and create the lives they want – lives that are true to their core values.
